Autobiography
My name is Joycelyn Moore. I am a graduate from Miles College. In the spring 2013, I acquired a Bachelors in Elementary Education. Before student-teaching, I worked seven years as a preschool teacher for Jefferson County HeadStart program. As a preschool teacher, I developed and implemented engaging, effective lessons in all subject areas for children culturally and socioeconomically diverse, ages 3-5, special and regular education students. I have previous experience in public relations as technical support agent for Verizon, and a customer service representative at The Birmingham News.
Two reasons why I chose to become a teacher. After graduating high school, I worked as a Camp Counselor. I enjoyed interacting with the children. At that time I realized how influential I could be in a child’s life just as my kindergarten teacher left a great impression in my life. I have studied under several great educators in the Birmingham City School Systems. Education gave me a feeling of empowerment and ready to conquer the world. One of my favorite quotes about education was quoted by Malcolm Forbes , “Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”
